It's Tax Season, Dont Forget your Homestead Exemption. Deadline April 1.
There is an often overlooked or unknown savings on property taxes, known as the Homestead Exemption. As a homeowner, the homestead exemption legally excuses you from a certain amount of annual property taxes that you pay, which can save you hundreds or thousands of dollars a year.
To be eligible in Georgia:

You must occupy the property and it must be your primary residence

You must have owned the property by Jan 1st

You must file the homestead exemption application by April 1st.
